Principles of Adult Learning

This session will assess teaching styles, explore adult education philosophies and examine how adults learn best. Using Conti’s Principles of Adult Learning Scale, you will assess whether your teaching style tends to be more teacher centred, more learner centred or somewhere in between. In addition, you will have a chance to assess if your educational philosophy and your teaching style align. The last part of the evening will be an exploration of strategies to help move from teacher centred to learner centred, based on adult learning principles.
