Importing and Exporting Tests in Bb

Tests can be exported from one course to another in Blackboard. Faculty can export, download and save a copy of the test to their computer. This can then be shared with another faculty member or saved for future semesters.

Many publishers create test banks associated with the textbooks. Often these test banks can be downloaded in version that is compatible with Blackboard.

See the areas below for more information on each option.

This will download a zip file of the test to your computer. Be sure to save it in an area specific that you can access it easily. If it doesn’t allow for this option, it will save to your downloads folder. Once it’s in the downloads folder, you can cut and paste it to a specific folder you wish to save it.

Keep in mind it will not be a file that you can easily review outside of Blackboard, but it when you want to import it into another course, it will load from the zip file.

You can also import test banks and question pools from your textbook publisher. Check your specific publisher’s website for instructions on how to export and save the questions in a format that is compatible for import into Blackboard.

Once the test has been save in a compatible format you are ready to import into Blackboard.
